Aveteran musician and DJ, Captain Kazoo has released a new and controversial CD single. Through the new CD, GIMME MONEY, Captain Kazoo express his experiences of meeting and seeing homeless people while performing on the streets of San Francisco.

Captain Kazoo, aka Howard “Kaz” Capp, is a 70-year-old performance artist, street musician and mobile DJ with over 50 years of experience in the music business. Some of his career highlightsinclude working as a technical director for the San Francisco Mime Troupe and as manager for Linda LaFlamme, formerly of It’s a Beautiful Day.

s you walk down the streets of San Francisco, occasionally you meet street musicians playing on a sidewalk or in a park and a crowd of people surrounding them. San Francisco has many talented street musicians who play all over the city, including non-tourist spots. Now an innovative album, called Streetnote, can bring you the real music on the street including the natural surrounding sounds on the streets.

Streetnote helps local street musicians by exposing their music and by contributing to their income. In August, the first serveral hundred copies of the new disc were distributed to the featured musicians for sales.

Streetnote’s website explains the unique taste of street music, which is a mixture of music, street, and interaction between them. Citing a social study finding, it explains that people in an urban society need such an external stimulus as street performance to find connection with others.
