I am curious as to why there are NO comments on any of your posts. Is it because you do not publish them? I found your Street Sheet by browsing for information on the homeless situation nationwide. Your writing is compelling and the stories make me sick. Why…it all seems surreal — the whole homeless problem. Have you ever heard of the National Alliance to End Homelessness? I found their site too and wondered if you think the Alliance is genuinely trying to help or if they are another somethingsomething blowing smoke.
Thanks for reading.

Hi, Loree-
We do publish comments on our posts, and there actually are some, though not many. Part of the reason for this is that all of our posts from before January, 2007 were put up in 2007 or 2008, and then back-dated so as to create an on-line archive of older Street Sheets. Part of this is that we haven’t done a very good job, yet, of publicizing the blog. Note: We will delete hateful posts, but tend to respond to what might be deemed moderately irate posts as politely as seems reasonable. So far, no comments have been deleted.
Who knows what lies in human hearts? We certainly don’t know whether the folks at the NAEH or genuine or are smoke-blowers. We tend to disagree with their perspective: They have promoted the current Federal (and consequent municipal) focus on the “chronic” homeless population, and have thus contributed to a system in which families and other less visible homeless people are left in the lurch. However, we do think their focus on housing is very positive.
Thanks for your comment! We’re glad you’re reading.
